Privacy notice: QuickBooks Connector

Who we are

Kingswood Renovations Ltd (company number 16393868), 8 Churchill Court, New Milton, BH25 6EL. We run the Kingswood QuickBooks Connector for our own use, and we are responsible for the information it handles. Contact: info@kingswoodrenovations.co.uk.

What it does

The connector reads our own company's QuickBooks Online records (such as customers, suppliers, invoices, bills, payments and accounts) through Intuit's API, with read-only access. It copies them to a database on our own company computer so we can search and ask questions about them. It does not change anything in QuickBooks.

Where the data goes

The copy stays on our computer. When someone asks the connector a question, the relevant figures are sent to Anthropic, whose Claude AI service works out the answer; Anthropic processes them only to provide that answer. The data is not sold, shared with anyone else, or used for marketing.

How long we keep it

The local copy is kept only as long as we use the connector, and is deleted if we disconnect it. The underlying accounting records are kept in QuickBooks for as long as the law requires (normally six years).

Your rights

If our records include information about you, for example as a customer or supplier, you can ask us for a copy, or to correct or delete it, by emailing us. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
